YUSUD

I am a Social Entrepreneur and I am the founder of YOUTHS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (YUSUD) which is a not-for-profit making, non-religious and non-political youth-led CBO promoting the "Social Entrepreneurship Concept" by combining the passion of a social mission with business disciplines, innovation and determination. YUSUD is therefore strategically using Business Model Approaches in responding to Social Problems such as HIV/AIDS pandemic, Poverty, Unemployment, Under-Employment, Drugs and Substance Abuse, Teenage Pregnancy, Prostitution, Crime, Environmental Degradation etc which have hit hardest on the people at the Base of Pyramid (BOP).

We work with people at the Base of Pyramid (BOP) including rural communities, PLWHA, the Young people, OVCs, Widows/Widowers, PWDs and the women to empower them on socio-economic and cultural issues. We network with other organizations including both local and international public & private organizations and individuals in an effort to achieve our interventions.

We  are focusing on issues of Environmental Conservation, Uptake of Renewable Energies, Behaviour Change Communication and Civic Education amongst Rural Households of western Kenya Region.
