What is...

The MFI Reporting Standards Initiative strives to build consensus on a single set of high-quality financial performance reporting standards that reflect the realities of today's microfinance industry and benefit the widening circle of microfinance stakeholders. The result will be an abundance of comparable, reliable financial performance information that will improve efficiency and decision-making in microfinance. Visit the Microfinance Reporting Standards Initiative site for more information.

KDID.org is currently hosting the online public comment forum for the "Measuring Financial Performance of Microfinance Institutions" as part of the MFI Reporting Standards Initiative. This document is a working draft for public comment and review. The public comment period is open until July 18th, 2010 and seeks to build consensus within the microfinance community on the updated set of 35 ratios and four asset-liability management tables. The SEEP Network will release these updates in the forthcoming Microfinance Financial Reporting Standards (the Standards) as a revision to the 2005 document Measuring Performance of Microfinance Institutions: A Framework for Reporting, Analysis, and Monitoring, otherwise known as the SEEP Framework.

The KDID portal is currently in BETA. What does this mean? Although our site is up and running, we are still continuing to work on the functionality and usability of our many upgraded features, and the BETA site can be considered a "preview" of the final KDID portal.

KDID BETA allows users to test the functionality and usability of the KDID portal and to provide feedback for our web development and engagement team. During the BETA period, you may find the occasional error or glitch — and we want to know about it! Please fill out our BETA feedback form or email us your comments. Thank you in advance for your ideas to improve the KDID portal.
