This session explores the importance of approaching agricultural development from a regional perspective. Since agro-ecological zones pay no head to political boundaries, quite often major food sheds transcend national borders. Hence, the coordination of production and trade policies is essential to creating economies of scale, connecting areas of supply and demand, and spurring technological advances.
